This is such a cute little present that you can make for all the kiddos on your list.  The pattern is at Michael's Canada.  Make this a wristlet for lunch money.

Flanged Pillows

I wanted to pass along these pictures from a workroom using my invisible zippers in pillows & also her comments:

" Hi Alicia,
I am so glad that I ordered all that zippering while I was at the beach last week!  I finished up and delivered 4 pillows today and I want to share a couple of pictures with you.  Two of the pillows had a micro-welt and then a 1.5" flange with mitered corners!  Would love to see a how-to video on easiest way to construct this with the invisible zippering.  I managed but it did take me too long.

                                  --- Jane"

Great Job Jane!

Am working on new video tutorials today..... stay tuned.

Olympics!

The last couple of nights I have fallen asleep to the Olympics, woken up several times during the night to watch with the dogs on the sofa next to me.  Olympic size kink in my neck. Dogs get dumped off sofa during yelling & rooting for the snowboarders from Colorado!

We so LOVE the Olympics! Yes, this is about as excited as bulldogs get......

Next time I'm treating myself & going!

Zipper Fork Trick

If you are having problems putting the slider on your coil zipper, here is a progression of pictures to help you quickly apply the slider onto your tape.

Notice that I took an inexpensive fork & bent it at an angle (just used my fingers). Vise was a .50 garage sale find. Orange clamp is from my local Downtown Ace & it is the $3.00 & 4" long wood clamp.

Pull the tynes of the fork apart so that the zipper head will fit between.  Zipper head is UPSIDE down.  Then the tape is opened about 2" & is UPSIDE down.

Custom Pillows

It's all about the details!
These pillows I made to the designer's specifications:

Notice how they look out of proportion to the headboard.  When you are designing pillows against a high headboard like this, think about making the back pillows higher or the center pillow higher to change the proportions. Squint at your design, like you would a painting, to check lights & darks.

End details of the neckrolls:

Great trim selection!  Trim is long & full.  Made the little button in the middle with leftover trim.
